Happy New Year 2025 & End of CLIENTXCMS v1

Hello everyone,

As 2024 comes to an end, we mark the conclusion of support and downloads for the first version of CLIENTXCMS. After more than 3 years of development, nearly 1200 commits, 40 modules, and hundreds of hours of hard work, this adventure ends today, December 31st. These 3 years have been enriching, allowing us to acquire skills we never imagined mastering. These achievements gave birth to the new NextGen version, which celebrates its first anniversary today.

Starting today, it will no longer be possible to download or choose a license for the original version. For customers still on this version, we strongly encourage you to migrate to the NextGen version.

New version v2.14: What's New​

This update, although delayed despite our best efforts, is the result of rigorous testing and verification work. With the constant increase of hosting providers using our services, we have prioritized the stability and quality of the introduced features.

Here are some of the main new features:

Customizable Additional Options​

We have developed a dedicated system for customizing offers with additional options. The configuration is simple and allows you to offer fully customizable packages to your clients. Extensions will include predefined options (RAM, additional IP, additional disk space, etc.). These options will be automatically renewed with the main service, but they can also have a separate expiration date. This opens vast possibilities to meet your clients' specific needs.

Additionally, you will be able to manage multi-location services with variable pricing based on locations.

Service Upgrades​

Highly requested by the community, this feature allows upgrading a service to a higher plan. For technical reasons, we do not allow plan downgrades, as this can cause problems, particularly with storage system management. Furthermore, from a commercial standpoint, this option offers little interest.

Additional Themes​

We announced the arrival of 3 new themes. This feature, also highly anticipated, aims to improve the customization of your spaces. Two of the new themes have already been revealed, and the third will arrive soon.

Additionally, we have decided to implement Bootstrap as a base, to expand theme creation possibilities. Who knows, this could mark the return of version 1 themes!

Bulk Email Sending​

We have designed a system allowing you to send targeted emails to a client or a specific group, for example based on the type of service or product they own. It is also possible to use dynamic variables in these emails.

You will be able to preview emails with test data before sending them, and potentially customize email templates further based on the feedback we receive.

For those of you who have been around since version 1, here are some screenshots to bring back memories.

The administrative dashboard, with its vertical menu, has evolved significantly in the NextGen version. However, some key elements from v1 have been retained in v2.

The client area homepage with the Stisla theme and its 4 cards gave more of a "dashboard" look than a "showcase site". With v2, we adopted a showcase-oriented design for a better user experience.

The services page and Plesk service details were already well thought out and ergonomic. These elements have therefore changed little.

Early 2025 Roadmap: What to Expect​

Here are the major priorities for early 2025:

Other features will enrich this list, but these are our priorities.
